Apologies this video gets a little slow toward the end, although includes a full disassembly of the Asus X540LA-XX013T, although this guide should apply for any laptop in the Asus X540L series.
It includes a breakdown and disassembly for:
* Hard disk upgrade to SSD (Solid State Disk)
* DVD-RW to BluRay
* Memory upgrade upon the base memory
Hopefully this helps you upgrade your system.
Of course after this you’ll also need to install MS Windows 10×64 home from a Windows ISO (which are easy enough to find online) and adjust your boot settings to allow the installation.
Thanks for watching and good luck,
Anthony

Hey, I've been trying to find one thing all morning. Can you please tell me if I can add a graphics card to this model?
Can i replace my hdd to ssd my laptop is asus x540l?
I found that if you run the "credit card" counterclockwise from the exact point of your exertion, then when you get to the DVD it is as easy as pie. {They think the other way}. Also I found two ribbon cables that need to be deftly removed. Cheers. Je suis du Texas.
FYI: That Laptop only supports DDR3L (with the L) RAM. If you planned in re-using old RAM you had lying around, it's probably not going to work because of that.
you did a great job of showing this.
you should put it back together on the video
Can i remove the battery and plug the laptop to outlet
Does it have 2 ram slots?
Hello.
I have an x555ld with broken display but also a x540l with broken motherboard, could you tell me if this two models are inter compatible, like to mount the display from x540l to x555ld ?

I came up with the idea to add more ram so i opened it and now i have 8gb instead of 4 but for some reason my touchpad isn't working anymore but the keyboard is writing. Basically i don't see anymore my pointer.. Any idea? Is a driver problem or i've done something wrong with the cable inserting in the switch? Any help is grateful
I used flat tool and pulled battery out adhesive is very weak
This model doesn't have back case for RAM upgrade, and it's such a pain in the arse to dissemble just to get under the motherboard. Bruhhh,
I really wanted to see him fucking rip his logic board in half

Life saver! I've been literally yearning to throw out this shit computer but there isn't anything actually wrong with it other than it's too damn slow. Can't thank you enough.
In my X450l the ram, hard disk, WiFi/Bluetooth can be accessible in about a minute
Ohayõ

Thanks for this video, saved me when upgrading a P540A. Managed to get ram installed without fully removing mobo. Keyboard and trackpad connectors are tricky!
Thank you as well. I had one. screw that stripped while disassembling the bottom cover. As result I turn the cover right and left while the keyboard was unloosing that screw and I saw ( when too late) two ribbons that came unattached. They secure on mother board and the bottom of the keyboard cover. How do I reattach them or did I ruin the ribbons?
Hi Antony, I've questions (aka doubts) for you.
